Monroeville Republican Committee (MRC) is a local committee of Republican Committee of Allegheny County (RCAC), and serves the Municipality of Monroeville, PA.

Mission

The MRC promotes Republican ideals and supports Republican Party candidates. The activities of MRC advance conservative values through education, advocacy and engagement of the community in pursuit of rational governance.

WHY VOTE IN THE “MIDTERMS” 2026 Federal and State Elections

This November, Pennsylvania voters will make important decisions that will shape our state and nation for years to come. This consequential midterm election will determine the MAJORITY and MINORITY balances in both the US Congress and PA General Assembly. Every Republican voter has the obligation to help choose the leaders who will represent our communities and make decisions affecting our families, businesses, taxes, public safety, education, transportation, healthcare, and many other issues. Vote the whole ballot because many national problems are solved by state governments. If you do not vote, SOMEONE ELSE will decide for you and it may not be the candidate that you would choose!

For Monroeville residents, November 3, 2026, General Election includes several key offices:

  • Governor of Pennsylvania – Elected to a 4-year term, the Governor serves as the Commonwealth’s chief executive responsible for proposing the state agencies, working with the State Legislature on policies about economic development, education, job creation, public safety, immigration, supporting agriculture, business development, emergency management, elections, and environment. He is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Pennsylvania National Guard.   • Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania – Elected to a 4-year term, the Lieutenant Governor is a crucial partner to the Governor. Duties include presiding over the PA Senate (casting tie-breaking votes), chairing the Boards of Pardons, and leading committees like the Local Government Advisory Committee and Emergency Management Council. First in line to succeed the Governor. (Davis vs Richey)

  • United States Representative – Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District (Monroeville is in this district.) – Elected to a 2-year term, the U.S. Representative serves in Congress, Introduces bills, resolutions, and amendments. Writes/votes in favor or against final bills. Approves US budget. May send Articles of Impeachment of elected official to the Senate. Serves on policy committees like Agriculture, Budget, Education, Energy, Foreign Affairs, Judiciary, Oversight, Small Business, Select Committee of Intelligence.   • Pennsylvania State Representative – House District 25 (Monroeville is in this district.) – Elected to a 2-year term. No term limits. Develops budget packages, makes taxation decisions, allocates spending, passes laws, including redistricting, in collaboration with the State Senate. Exclusive authority to impeach officials.   • All Allegheny County residents – Allegheny County voters will be asked whether to amend the County Home Rule Charter by removing existing restrictions on benefits and resources available to members of Allegheny County Council.

    • The ballot question states: “Shall Article III, Section 7(c) of the Home Rule Charter be repealed, removing the prohibition that only applies to County Council members receiving County funding for personal staff, district offices, and fringe benefits?”

      • What a YES Vote Would Do

        • A YES vote would repeal the current charter restriction that prevents Allegheny County Council members from receiving county-funded:

          • Personal staff

          • District offices

          • Fringe benefits, including health insurance, life insurance, and pension benefits

          • If approved, County Council members would no longer be prohibited by the Home Rule Charter from receiving these county-funded resources. Future decisions regarding these benefits and resources would be determined through the county budget and legislative process.

      • What a NO Vote Would Do

        • A NO vote would keep the existing Home Rule Charter language in place, continuing the prohibition on County Council members receiving county-funded personal staff, district offices, and fringe benefits
