As we approach the 2024 Election Cycle, the call of the social duty of voting for our public servants has become louder. With our State House of Representatives, Senators, Federal Legislation, and Presidential Candidates being on the ballot, voters will have the opportunity to
decide the fate of our state in various ways.
It is no secret that America is facing a crisis. Various aspects of our life have become affected by the gross mismanagement of Washington, Harrisburg, and our very own local county officials. Our youth are struggling paycheck to paycheck, many of our surrounding communities
have become overrun with crime, and various government programs such as our very own public schools have become over politicized. Instead of actually solving these issues, the Democratic Party has instead sought to outright ignore them. Our President’s promises have been abandoned as he ignored his follower’s pleas to reduce the cost of living and his promise
to help revitalize the infrastructure of our nation that attracted those outside his flock. Local Democrats ignore the issues plaguing our state and local county, instead focusing on bills that increase our taxes and attack our Republic’s very ability to function democratically.
We as an alternative believe in the plight of the common American. The Monroeville Republican Committee believes in benefiting our community by both education and transparency. Rather than strip your rights and tax you into oblivion, we favor a smaller and far more efficient form of government. We are always open to those who seek to better Monroeville and revitalize our neighborhoods, with our meetings on every 4th Thursday of the month being open to all who are interested. Our Committee has plenty of opportunities for those who want to better our borough for the future to come.
Charlie Karelitz, MRC Communications Subcommittee
Republican Principles:
I am a Republican because:
I believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability, and responsibility must be honored.
I believe in equal rights and equal justice for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or disability.
I believe that free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth, and prosperity.
I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least and exercises only those constitutional powers granted to government by the people.
I believe the most effective, responsible, and responsive government is government closest to the people.
I believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
I believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom, and human rights throughout the world.
Finally, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
“The first organizing convention of the Republican party was in Pittsburgh on February 22, 1856. The gavel fell to open the party's first nominating convention, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 17, 1856, announcing the birth of the Republican Party as a unified political force.”
