Dr. DeLorenzo has provided support services back to the community over the years.
Career
Dr. DeLorenzo is a retired Professor Emeritus from California University of Pennsylvania (CALU). He and his wife, Patrice, have lived in Monroeville Ward 3 since 1987. They have two children, Lisa and Jon Michael, who graduated from Gateway High School.
Prior to joining the academia, DeLorenzo spent more than thirty years in the information technology sector at Westinghouse Electric and Pittsburgh Paint Glass (PPG). At CALU starting in 2005, he was Chair for the Computer Information Systems program and the Business and Economics Department.
Dr. DeLorenzo has published over 40 papers in peer-reviewed academic journals and has made numerous conference presentations, both nationally and internationally. He was also a Visiting Professor at the International School of Business and Social Studies (ISBSS) University in Celje, Slovenia. And at CALU, he formed a strategic partnership with the John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh (the largest history museum in Pennsylvania) to secure service-learning opportunities for students.
Dr. DeLorenzo served as President of the International Association for Computer Information Systems (IACIS) academic organization and received its Ben Bauman Award in Excellence recognizing faculty service.
